Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) is a standardized competency-based testing and assessment system used primarily in adult education, workforce development, and English language programs across the United States to measure basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills. It evaluates a student’s ability to apply reading, math, listening, and speaking skills in real-world, everyday scenarios. CASAS is used to place learners into appropriate instructional levels and to measure learning gains over time.
This training satisfies the NYSED requirement for all NYS CASAS administrators in adult literacy programs. This training does NOT qualify for NEDP administrator certification.
This 6 hour training counts towards the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
