AEPP/CUNY CareerKits Workshop

This workshop is highly recommended for all AEPP funded case managers, teachers and administrators.
In this workshop, Jackie Edwards, one of our RAEN Teacher Leaders, will be touring through the AEPP/CUNY CareerKits. These kits comprise a comprehensive career preparation resource for teachers and case managers from all AEPP funded programs. The goal is to equip students with the skills necessary to make informed choices about their career paths. CareerKit activities are written at the HSE/Upper ESL level, with adaptations possible for Pre-HSE and intermediate ESL levels. Each of the CareerKits addresses one of eleven industry sectors and integrates reading, writing, research and math skills. Jackie will also incorporate new information and job data related specifically to our Central Southern Tier region.
The 10 industry sectors covered are: Healthcare; Technology; Community & Social Services; Education & Childcare; Manufacturing; Hospitality, Recreation & the Arts; Food Production; Retail; Construction; and Transportation & Warehousing.
This 4 hour training counts toward the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
