BEST Plus 2.0 Refresher Training

All AEPP funded program staff who administer the BEST Plus 2.0 Assessment must keep their 2.0 certification current through the remainder of FY25. Please continue to use the current versions of the BEST Plus (2.0) and BEST Literacy (1.0) throughout the entire FY25 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). BEST Plus Administrator Training will continue to be required for any staff member that will be administering the current versions of these two ESL assessments. The RAENs will also continue to provide BEST Plus Refresher training, the annual requirement for all BEST Plus Test Administrators. BEST Plus Refresher for the experienced BEST Plus Test Administrators. You must have attended and been certified as a BEST Plus Test Administrator. This workshop has been developed by CAL (Center for Applied Linguistics) for previously trained test administrators to receive comprehensive scoring review and practice. Participants will have the opportunity to watch a training video, practice scoring techniques and discuss BEST Plus Test experiences.

Participants are asked to bring their BEST Plus 2.0 Refresher Workbook (if they have one) and their BEST Plus Scoring Rubric for reference during the workshop.

This training will satisfy the NYSED required BEST Plus Refresher training. Program managers are welcome to attend. Refresher Training must be completed every year.

This 6 hour training counts toward the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
